"I have a dream, is one of the most powerful speeches ever given in history by Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership started many years ago, with the civilization of ancient cities, with military purposes, the catholic church, in middle age, and with the industrial revolution.

But first, we have to define what is the meaning of leadership. After reading lots of definitions, I conclude leadership is the art of motivating a team to act to achieve a common goal. This definition captures the essentials of being able and prepared to inspire others.

Barack Obama once said we’re the first generation to face global problems, and maybe the last one that can do something about it, and that’s how it is. We’re the leaders of today and the leaders of tomorrow. And how can we create leaders? Or do they born being a leader?

Steve Jobs is a classic example of someone who learned to lead. After starting Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak in 1976, he was fired by the board of directors in 1985. Later, after founding Pixar Animation Studios and NeXT Computer, he was eventually rehired by Apple in 1997 as CEO and went on to develop the revolutionary iPod, iPhone, and many other products.

Nelson Mandela is a classic example of someone who was born to be a leader. After joining the African National Congress, he became a public figure, and the authorities marked him as a target, accusing him of treason. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1964. Finally, after 27 and a half years in captivity, Mandela was released.
Years passed and he became Nobel Peace Laureate and the first black President of South Africa.

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples, said Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. And that’s the motivation that moves me.

We are leaders, and we can create leaders. It’s our time to advocate for local and global issues. Maybe we’re not the affected ones, or those problems are not happening in our noses, but we, as leaders, must practice empathy. And that will lead us to build a great future.

I have a dream today! Said Martin Luther King Jr many years ago, but I know WE ALL HAVE A DREAM TODAY. Thanks."
